Shop Local, Right at Snowshoe

  • Posted on

You're a responsible human, right? You care about local people, right? Me too! But sometimes it's hard to "shop small" and "buy local."

Pin on funny:)

Yes, Elle, sometimes, it's hard.

But, guys, we don't have to feel this way at Snowshoe Mountain! It's like Linwood Market patted my hand and said "We know, it's tough sometimes, precious girl. Here, this is easy."

They have a beautiful spot in the Linwood Community Library filled with all sorts of local goodies. We're talking, full grocery trip here, people. (And then go get your Pop Tarts at the Dollar General. It's all about balance.)

Here's what you need to know about the Linwood Market:

  • Location: 72 Snowshoe Drive, inside the Linwood Community Library (10 minutes from the Village)
  • Hours: Mon 3-6p, Wed-Fri 10a-6p, and Sat 10a-4p but check their facebook for current hours
  • What's in stock: www.linwood-market.com for full stock or their facebook for featured items
  • Cost: better than what you'd expect for local items. Here's what we picked up: (ALL LOCAL!)

  • Apples: 2 for $1
  • Ground beef: $6/lb
  • Eggs: $4/doz
  • Lip balm*: $3
  • Frozen dinner rolls: $3
  • Local cheese: $10 (a splurge here, but come on- it's local cheese!

Local cheese? What is this? Switzerland?!

Even better, it's Snowshoe.

They also have a fabulous payment system set up: you just scan a QR code and check yourself out.

If you're still not convinced that you need to check out Linwood on your next trip to Snowshoe, my final note is that the Linwood library is also a gem. You can check books, DVDs, and other materials out, even if you aren't a WV resident. The staff are so helpful, flexible, and kind. They have a great kids area too!

I mean, come on! How cute, right?

Linwood- Thanks for all the yummy treats (but mostly for making me a better person.)

*This lip balm is from our friends Britt and Tabitha Parcell at the GreenBrier Bee Farm. You can look forward to a full post about these two marvelous people. We love to give our EverHome guests honey from their farm because it's a-maz-ing.
